Below are some pictures from Ron's trip to Viet Nam!

The one and only, Smiling Greg could not make the trip as he was with Carol in the Holy Land. So, Fill In Greg decided to make the trip instead.

Heading out shows our boarding passes at Newark NJ 10/19 landing and checking in at the Marriott Renaissance on 10/21 losing one day in our 15,600 mile flight. All set for some drinking, partying & gambling, collecting and sight seeing. Our first stop was the 5 star Majestic Hotel and Casino [virtual machines only] 1 block from our Hotel.

We took pictures of The Royale, The Grand and New World Casino and Hotels but those were in the destroyed films. Casino's are open 24 hrs a day-one needs a passport to get in-there are no slots cards for ratings as everything is comped. Drinks along with noodles and rice are severed at the machines. A small sit down area in front of the bar one has access to their buffet. Fill In Greg did manage to get an ashtray at the Majestic.

Scan motorcycles vs bumper car psychos. This one made me laugh and think about The Chip Board. I tried to take my 1st picture holding Fill In Greg and the car window open, darn mirror of one of these motorcycles hit my elbow and I came close to losing Fill In Greg into traffic. I asked Tom if I could use him as a joke and he gave me permission to do so.

 "Saigon has 4M motorcycles. Most ride as if they are Evil Knievel. Sorry Tom-you and your Bumper Car Psychos would come in second-I would have to bet on the Cycles"

Fill In Greg and I were there on a Sat , they had over 20 machines driving pile that we could see. A lot of work has been done on the Golf course also.

President Bill Clinton visited Pho 2000 and so did Fill In Greg and I.

I know Fill In Greg was thinking this busy intersection was a prefect spot for a Sonic.

The highways above are all near the new Ho Tram Resort area with more being built.


These scans above of my pictures are all from old Saigon. Note the wires, looks like some we see of India. They have started some work in the old section, easy to notice are the circles that traffic goes around. The ones that look nicer and one that has Renaissance is in section being rebuilt rather quickly. If you walk across the street one goes into the Saigon River. Fill In Greg and I stayed on the 18th floor over looking the Saigon River.

 

The chips are from the Cambodia Casino's Fill In Greg and I picked up. Some were missing from my lost suitcase along with pictures of Fill In Greg in front of each Casino.

The bottom picture is for our trip back home. Bottles and cans are empty, we saw some nice country and some not so nice.

We ate, drank and collected together into Communist Countries.

I do believe Fill In Greg and I are the first two to visit the new Ho Tram Strip, when it opens and expands to 5 Mega Resorts as planned, Fill In Greg and I were there first.
